Sanitation Manager - Houston, TX

We are hiring a Sanitation Manager for our Houston, TX (specifically: Pasadena and Deer Park) food manufacturing facilities. In this role, you will lead our sanitation team members and all activities necessary for the cleaning and sanitizing of our production and packaging equipment and the dry storage areas while ensuring all duties are performed in accordance with USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture), SSOP (Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures), HACCP (Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Points), FDA (Food & Drug Administration), and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).

Please note the typical hours are night shift, Monday‑Friday from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Responsibilities
  • Confer with multiple production departments to schedule sanitizing and cleaning assignments, respond to reports of sanitation problems and USDA and FDA issues, and monitor sanitation performance as needed to verify guidelines and procedures.
  • Manage the effective utilization of employees’ skills, development, quality, housekeeping, safety, utilization of required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), policy administration, employee relations, scheduling, cost control, and coordination of all sanitation activities with multiple crews.
  • Prepare and compile required company and government reports within required deadlines and retain as required for production and food safety audits required in food manufacturing.
  • Investigate ways to reduce waste downtime and improve equipment and employee utilization in our continuous efforts to improve processes utilized; present proposals to Manager for review and approval.
  • Manage, train, and develop subordinates.
  • The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required, including but not limited to bump cap, safety glasses/goggles, face shield, face mask, ear plugs, hair and beard nets, gloves and safety shoes or rubber boots.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with minimum 5 years of related experience in sanitation and/or full cycle cleaning, ideally in a manufacturing setting, with 2+ years leading a team of sanitation staff.
  • Understanding and ability to comply with company and federal regulations and procedures.
  • Basic skills in the generation of data from electronic general ledger systems such as SAP.
  • Good mechanical aptitude within a high‑volume manufacturing setting.
Compensation And Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $73,500 to $122,500 annually with eligibility for a 15% annual incentive bonus, that is based on organizational performance. The pay range represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to education, skills, work experience, certifications, geography, etc. As such, starting pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
