  • Shift: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday

Must have experience with color matching software and X‑Rite Readers, UV inks, and water‑based inks.

Specific Duties
  • The Ink Technician will be expected to align with our workplace core values.
  • Maintain an inventory of all inks in the flexo departments.
  • Mix spot color inks as required.
  • Perform drawdowns within 24 hours upon request.
  • Reduce waste by recycling inventory to consume blends of ink that are no longer required.
  • Provide proofs of process colors and spot colors on various substrates. Maintain a library of these proofs.
  • Review and update inks per production schedule.
  • Troubleshoot problems with inks through unique blending, material recommendations, or process changes. Track these issues in a database.
  • R.T.S. inks daily.
  • Bring tolerance issues to the attention of the Production Supervisor.
  • Update and obsolete any ink formulas in the database system.
  • Responsible for the service of the X‑Rite Spectrodensitometers and Densitometers throughout the plant.
  • Maintain calibration and repair as needed.
  • Perform monthly ink inventory and cycle counts.

Education / Experience

Requires a high school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.). Requires at least three years of relevant experience in flexo ink operation in a manufacturing environment.

Physical Demands

This position works in a manufacturing environment and requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety footwear. The role involves standing for extended periods, frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching, as well as regular use of hands and fingers to handle materials and equipment. Some walking and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds are required.

Specific vision abilities include close, distance, and color vision to distinguish color variations, along with depth perception and focus adjustment. The work environment noise level is typically moderate to loud. Flexibility to work varying schedules and overtime as required by workload and customer deadlines is necessary.
