Ideal Candidate- Strong background in machining, with a focus on producing high-quality, precision parts using manual lathes.
- Minimum of 3 years of industry experience and a commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Set up, operate, and maintain manual lathes to produce precision parts according to blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Perform machining tasks such as turning, facing, threading, boring, and knurling to meet tight tolerances.
- Select appropriate tools, materials, and machining techniques to achieve desired outcomes.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work orders to ensure accurate part production.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify compliance with specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on manual lathes to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Collaborate with team members, including engineers and quality control, to ensure production goals are met.
- Document work processes and report any discrepancies or issues to supervisors.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience as a Manual Machinist, with a focus on manual lathes in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in setting up and operating manual lathes to produce precision components.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Expertise in using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).
- Knowledge of machining techniques, material properties, and tool selection.
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Basic understanding of shop math, including geometry and trigonometry, for machining calculations.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Experience with other manual machining equipment (e.g., milling machines, grinders) is a plus.
- Familiarity with a variety of materials, including steel, aluminum, and alloys.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or fabrication shop environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical training or certification in machining or a related field is preferred.
