Texas Oncology is looking for a PRN Float Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team! This position will support the Pasadena, Texas location. This position is Monday–Friday, no weekends or holidays, and no call. This position will be either a level I, II or Senior based on candidate experience.

What does the Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) do?
Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, and developmental differences across age groups, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team for assessment and therapeutic management, and supports adherence to the US Oncology Compliance Program and Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
ResponsibilitiesThe essential duties and responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
- Assesses patient/family needs and provides teaching and instructional materials.
- Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
- Administers medications/blood products using correct medication, dosage, route, time and technique.
- Ensure pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to therapy administration where applicable.
- Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting the physician regarding dosage modifications, problems and symptom management.
- Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central lines/catheter devices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided.
- Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:
Education/Training
Level I
- Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
- RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
