We are seeking an RN for our ICU to ensure we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. We want a phenomenal addition like you who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for assigned patients.
- Meet the Standards of Practice for the Neuro Trauma Intensive Care Unit and manage all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment.
- Participate in activities to plan, measure, assess and improve the quality of patient care.
- Respond to Code Blue and implement life‑saving measures per ACLS protocol.
- Interpret EKG rhythm strips and evaluate 12‑lead EKGs.
- Monitor and titrate IV vasoactive, antiarrhythmic and other special drugs per physician order.
- Asses patients in an ongoing manner per patient acuity.
- Assist physicians with procedures such as thoracentesis, chest tube insertion, and venous access devices.
- Assume the responsibility of charging the unit as needed.
- Maintain patient safety goals and core measures.
- Ensure throughput plan is enforced and followed.
- Scanning patient armbands and administering medications via E‑MAR.
- Enter orders via Order Management and follow CPOE orders.
- Maintain a customer‑friendly atmosphere and the unit’s physical appearance.
- Model and reinforce behavior consistent with teaching the patient and communicating patient status to the healthcare team.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred).
- 1 year ICU experience (Required).
- Current Texas or compact state licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners.
- Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association (Required).
- ACLS certification within six months of hire.
- CCRN certification within two years of hire (Preferred).
- NIHSS certification within three months of hire, unless currently certified then maintained every two years.
- 8 hours of acute stroke education annually.
