Role Description The Laborer role at Shades of Texas Wholesale Nursery is a full-time, on-site position based in Pasadena, TX. Day-to-day responsibilities include loading and unloading plants and materials, moving and organizing inventory, and assisting with the care, watering, and maintenance of flowers, shrubs, and trees. The Laborer will help maintain clean and safe work areas, follow instructions from supervisors, and support nursery operations such as order preparation, staging, and basic landscaping tasks.
This role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and safely operating nursery tools and equipment as trained.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions and on uneven terrain.
- Basic familiarity with plants, landscaping, or nursery work, or willingness to learn.
- Reliable work ethic, punctuality, and ability to follow safety procedures and supervisor directions.
- Good teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with coworkers and support daily operations.
- Capability to operate or learn to operate basic tools, equipment, and machinery used in nursery and landscaping work.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience in nursery, landscaping, construction, or related labor roles is a plus.
- Ability to work full-time, including possible weekends or seasonal overtime as needed.
