Primary Purpose The Child Nutrition Substitute is assigned to various job duties including meal production, serving and cleaning. School assignments may vary on a day-to-day basis. Substitutes are assigned where needed.

• The ability to read and follow oral instructions.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

• Follow National School Breakfast and Lunch Program guidelines.
• Prepare or assist in preparation of vegetables, salads, meats and/or bakery items, while following standardized recipes.
• Assist with cashiering duties as needed.
• Serve menu items to customers on serving lines, according to offer vs serve guidelines.
• Assist with cleaning in dish room, kitchen and serving lines.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Store food items and supplies properly; maintain a clean and organized storage area.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the proper care and use of equipment.
• Assist with trash removal.
• Follow health department and HACCP standard operating procedures for cleanliness and food safety.
• Follow department procedures to promote a safe work environment.
• Assume responsibilities of other absent employees as needed.
• Be willing and able to work on a replacement basis at any campus.
• Arrive on time for work and practice good attendance, while working the schedule assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.

Working Conditions

Physical Demands:

• Stand and walk on hard surface floor unassisted, continually, for at least three hours;
• Walk briskly.
• Push and pull carts.
• Stoop, bend, kneel, and climb.
• Lift up to 35 pounds.
• Must be able to load and unload products at a maximum height of 67 inches.
• Climb a 6 foot ladder.

Environment Moderate to heavy exposure to hold/cold temperatures, steam, wet floors and cleaning chemicals. The Pasadena ISD is a tobacco, alcohol, and drug-free workplace.
