About the Role:

The Welder 3 position is a skilled trade role focused on performing advanced welding tasks to fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures and components with precision and quality. This role requires the ability to interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to ensure that all welds meet stringent industry standards and safety regulations. The Welder 3 will be responsible for selecting appropriate welding techniques and materials to complete projects efficiently while maintaining structural integrity.

Collaboration with engineers, fabricators, and quality control teams is essential to troubleshoot and optimize welding processes. Ultimately, this role contributes to the successful completion of manufacturing, construction, or maintenance projects by delivering durable and reliable welded products that meet client specifications and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a certified welding training program or apprenticeship.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional welding experience.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and welding symbols.
• Ability to pass welding certification tests such as AWS (American Welding Society) Certified Welder.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with automated or robotic welding systems.
• Certification in multiple welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick).
• Familiarity with welding inspection techniques and non-destructive testing methods.
• Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, or construction environments.
• Basic knowledge of metallurgy and welding metallurgy principles.

Responsibilities:

• Perform advanced welding operations using various techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Cored Arc Welding on a variety of metals including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
• Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements and specifications.
• Inspect and test welded joints for quality assurance, ensuring compliance with industry codes and safety standards.
• Maintain welding equipment and tools, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to plan welding tasks, estimate material needs, and meet project deadlines.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment to maintain a safe working environment.
• Document work performed and report any issues or deviations from specifications to management.

Hitch begins and ends on Thursdays
12 hour shift
0600 to 1800 hrs.
44 standard hours per week based on the 8/6 schedule with 11 hours pay per day
