• 10 years of professional experience designing, developing, and deploying applications with a focus on backend
• Experience building and designing scalable backend systems
• Experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise with development experience in Java 17/21 and Python with building RESTful backend applications using Spring Boot
• Experience in designing, building and maintaining high-thought put low latency data pipelines using Apache Kafka
• Experience with AWS infrastructure and cloud services (Lambda, ECS/Fargate, API Gateway, Cloud Watch, Secrets Manager, IAM)
• Experience working with SQL and No
  
  SQL databases
• Effective use of AI tools in your own day-to-day work
• Familiarity with software engineering development cycles
• Commitment to writing meaningful unit tests and integration tests
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Work at least 3 days out of our Pasadena office

• Strong skills and experience building AI-powered applications
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, AI agents or conversational AI
• Databricks or similar cloud data warehousing platforms
• Passion for distributed systems and large scale data systems
