Responsibilities

  • Monitors work progress and completion dates against schedules, reports progress, and ensures shipments are on schedule.
  • Works with the supply chain team to negotiate Incoterms with strategic customers and vendors.
  • Prepares all international paperwork required by customs and U.S. law; ensures the appropriate parties certify documentation and the product is shipped as negotiated.
  • Sets up and maintains open accounts with freight forwarders and other delivery services; arranges brokering for imports/returns of goods to the U.S.
  • Responds to customer requests for documentation/information pertaining to the packaging and shipping of their orders.
  • Contacts forwarders to verify shipment details when needed and provides shipping estimates as requested.
  • Updates status of orders in ERP as necessary, including tracking information.
  • Coordinates activities of package and shipping employees.
  • Identifies areas for continuous improvement and makes recommendations to the management team.
  • Works closely with all departments to facilitate the movement of customer orders.
  • Operates a forklift as needed.
  • Performs ancillary duties as required.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required;
    Business degree or some college classes in business preferred.
  • Five or more years of progressive shipping experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational, math, and reading skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, telephone etiquette, and interpersonal skills; must be able to communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and handle multiple tasks independently.
  • Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills required.
  • Ability to think freely and exercise independent judgment.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
