The RoleCandidate will be responsible for establishing, overseeing, and managing all activities related to assigned power and lighting shipboard systems.
- Research, development, and design of electrical components, equipment, and systems in accordance with all contractual requirements, military and commercial specifications.
- Initiate procurement specifications; review and approve supplier proposals; adjudicate supplier furnished information for translation into construction products.
- Interface with vendors and Navy technical representatives; support vendor design reviews and testing; develop drawings and other documents IAW Mil‑Specs and contract drawings.
- Interface with other disciplines and departments to ensure seamless integration of assigned systems into the shipboard environment; address and resolve technical issues; make decisions on problems in area of responsibility.
- Support shipbuilding production department as required.
Applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts. Work on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious. Provides solutions that are highly innovative and ingenious. Some travel required.
Must Have- 9 Years of experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in a related field.
- 7 Years of experience with a Master’s Degree.
- 4 Years of experience with a PhD.
- Senior level expertise regarding Electric Plant, Power Generation and Distribution, 4160V Distribution System, and Power Systems Analysis (Fault Current and Circuit Coordination).
- Technical lead in the aforementioned areas; support new electrical technology insertion for various HII‑Ingalls programs.
- Shipyard authority on Power Systems Distribution and Analysis, Ship to Shore Connection, Electric Cable, and leader of innovative development initiatives within Engineering, Operations, and mentoring entry and junior level Engineers.
