Role

Test Engineers are responsible for reviewing the System Test Requirements provided by Contract Specification and Engineering Department, gathering equipment and system performance specifications for each construction contract and incorporating those specifications into a structured test philosophy and approach and providing Operational Test with Test Instructions and Procedures that adequately demonstrate the equipment and system performance to the External Customer that complies with the specifications/contract.

Test Engineers identify test documents required to be developed (Test Index) and preparing and writing the Test Procedure (TP). The Test Engineer utilizes the application of control processes (problem reporting), which are necessary in order to ensure quality feedback and the maintenance of records reflect Test Verification Records (Test Reports) are in compliance with contract specifications, Quality Management and test requirements.

Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment. Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements. Responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area.

Must

Have
  • 9 Years with Bachelor of Science degree in related field; 7 years of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree; 4 years of relevant professional experience with a PhD OR (in lieu of) HS/GED with 17 yrs work experience in a related field.
Nice to Have
  • 17 years shipbuilding/shipboard experience, past experience with Technical Writing, Ship Board certifications, EOSS, Tech manuals and Ship Specifications.
  • Prior leadership experience, Ability to interact and present information verbally and in writing to internal and external customers.
