The Role

Calibrates electronic test measuring equipment and signal generating equipment to conform to set standards. Tests, calibrates, adjusts, and maintains electromechanical, mechanical, optical, pneumatic, hydro mechanical, and pressure-type measuring and indicating instruments. Sets up calibration sequences, methods and procedures according to detailed specifications, blueprints, drawings, and requirements. Disassembles, cleans, repairs, and replaces defective parts of test equipment such as pressure gauges and tension meters.

May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. T he Calibration Technician , and is responible for the calibration, troubleshooting, and/or repair of electronic, physical, and/or optical test and measuring equipment using established methods and procedures. The Calibration Technician is also responsible for the calibration of advanced, complex test equipment deliverable with Navy ships.

Maintain an accurate records and recall system for calibrateable equipment and for processing and statusing of both company owned and ship deliverable test equipment and test tools. Requires the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must Have

Associate's degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 1 year experience. A combination of education and experience may be used in lieu of degree.

Nice to Have

Should have formal training in metrology (military) verified by certificates of training in Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) and/or Technical Training School Certificates listed on the resume.
