Position Overview
The Environmental Services Aide maintains environmental and infection control standards within established policies and procedures of the Health System. He/She performs a variety of general cleaning and linen tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas of the facility. The Aide also performs tasks for the laundry/linen division, restocking linen carts, assembling packs for Surgical Services, Outpatient Surgery, Emergency Department, Labor and Delivery and Radiology, ensuring linens are delivered and correct amounts received, and gathering all linens from designated areas.

Responsibilities (not exhaustive)

• Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards in patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other areas.
• Perform general cleaning and linen tasks.
• Restock linen carts and assemble linen packs for various services.
• Ensure correct delivery of linen, manage linen room, and gather linens from designated areas.
• Follow policies and procedures of the Health System.

Education
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Experience
Six (6) months housekeeping experience in a healthcare facility preferred.

Physical Demands
Stand for extended periods, walk, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform various physical motions. May be exposed to communicable disease or hazardous waste.

Mental Demands
Demonstrate strong communication skills, written and verbal, and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Special Demands
Superior customer service skills, professional etiquette, computer proficiency (keyboard, MS Outlook), and office technology use.
