Position Overview: The Service Dispatcher reports to the Service Manager and is responsible for assisting in the administration, field productivity, and profitability of the Service Department. The role supports the Service Manager in achieving departmental and corporate strategic goals.

Key Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Organizational and supervisory skills to meet departmental goals.
  • Interact with technicians, suppliers, and customers regularly.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and coordinating department resources.
  • Schedule service jobs considering job complexity and technician capabilities.
  • Train technicians in customer service, sales, and marketing techniques.
  • Manage accounts receivable and negotiate credit terms.
  • Coordinate scheduling with other department managers.
  • Resolve customer complaints efficiently and report incidents.
  • Work with suppliers on parts issues and report problems.
  • Perform staff duties as directed by the Service Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience in customer service, preferably in HVACR or building services.
  • Negotiation skills with suppliers.
  • Excellent communication skills across diverse groups.
  • Basic HVACR knowledge and support capabilities.
  • Understanding of HVACR terminology, job-costing, marketing, and sales.
  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours and be on-call.
  • Ability to serve as acting Service Manager if needed.
  • Customer meeting skills and sales ability for service jobs and contracts.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Support technicians during after-hours calls.
  • Valid driver’s license.
