Overview
GENERAL FUNCTION: Assists Material Control personnel to determine availability of or back log of material. Ability to use blueprints and schematics to determine what materials are needed to complete the job assignment. Works with warehouse to maintain paperwork involved in the receipt and placement of material.
ResponsibilitiesThe following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities:
- Assist Material Control in the tracking of all warehouse material.
- Ability to kit material based on a spreadsheet list or generated list from Central Planning.
- Meets with warehouse personnel to ascertain the availability of material in storage or what may be on back ordered.
- Make arrangements to have available material transported to the job site.
- Follow up on back ordered material.
- Maintain paperwork associated with receipt and movement of material.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Fairly strong organization and communication skills.
Experience & TrainingDESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: Prior shipbuilding experience preferred. Knowledge of blueprints and schematics along with shipyard terminology preferred.
