We’re building tomorrow’s fleet today. HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding Division is the largest manufacturing employer in Mississippi, with a history of designing, building, and maintaining amphibious ships, destroyers, and cutters for the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard.

• Inspect visuals of in‑process and completed products, including electronic units, subsystems, electromechanical assemblies, and mechanical units.
• Identify structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds using predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications.
• Operate measuring devices such as dial indicators, micrometers, and fixtures to assess compliance.
• Accept, reject, or rework defective units or systems per customer specifications and inspection instructions.
• Use blueprints, diagrams, drawing instructions, and checklists to verify quality.
• Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process control or other procedures.
• Perform line clearances after each lot to ensure removal of all materials from the previous lot.

• High School diploma or equivalent plus 5 years of additional education and/or related experience; or an Associate’s Degree and 1 year of related experience.
• NBPI or NACE 1 qualification (required).
• Quality Inspection Coatings experience in a marine/shipyard environment.
• Ability to inspect in confined spaces, at extreme heights, stooping, crawling, bending, and climb ladders and stairs as needed.
• Proficiency reading blueprints.
• Resume submission (required).

• Demonstrated basic computer skills.
