Overview
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Full Time, Days at a Distinct Part Skilled Nursing Facility.
Location:
Pascagoula Hospital, Pascagoula, Mississippi.
The Licensed Practical Nurse provides skilled technical nursing care to patients according to predefined standards and a plan of care established by a Nurse Practitioner or Physician. Assumes other duties as assigned. Care is provided using the MS Nurse Practice Act, CDC Guidelines for Infection Control, and Singing River Health System Departments of Nursing Plan for Provision of Care, Treatment and Services.
All duties are performed in accordance with Singing River Health System procedures and policies, accreditation organizations, and governing guidance and publications for health care employees.
- Provide skilled nursing care to patients per the plan of care and established standards.
- Follow procedures and policies and collaborate with other health care team members.
- Perform duties in alignment with regulatory and organizational guidelines for health care employees.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing program for Licensed Practical Nursing.
- Current State of Mississippi license as an LPN required; expanded role licensure preferred.
- Required to complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.
- De-escalation training must be completed by the end of position orientation (90 days); must have appropriate level of de-escalation training.
- 6 months nursing experience preferred.

- Work is moderately active with capacity to sit, move about the facility, and travel between facilities within the SRHS service area.
- Exerting a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects including the human body.
- Use of repetitive motions and exposure to body fluids, sputum, and tissues; close visual acuity and ability to focus on near tasks.
- Ability to be active for extended periods and work schedules as needed (including off days, shifts, or weekends).
- Keen assessment and decision-making abilities; strong communication skills; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in complex situations; maintain collaborative working relationships.
- Superior customer service skills and professional etiquette.
- Proficient computer skills (keyboard, MS Outlook, Word) and ability to use office technology.
- Demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment across patient populations of all ages.
