Plumber II

Overview

This position is responsible for performing highly skilled plumbing work at an advanced level to support the maintenance and repair of County buildings and facilities in accordance with all building codes and standards of Jackson County policy and procedures.

• Install, alter, maintain, repair or replace plumbing systems or fixtures in the County buildings and facilities. (potable water mains, sewage systems, lines, natural gas/propane piping systems, water heating systems, and any related appliances).
• Institutional potable water mixing values, recirculating systems, pneumatic faucet and toilet systems.
• Fabricate or modify systems and fixtures for remodels and retrofits.
• Operate various machines associated with all phases of plumbing.
• Unclog sinks, commodes and sewer lines.
• Read and review drawings and spec books to determine work details and procedures for preparation of written cost estimates.
• Assist management with plumbing punch lists upon completion or new construction and capital improvements.

High School Diploma, its’ equivalent or vocational school certificate. Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in Plumbing is required and license or certification is strongly preferred. Valid Mississippi Driver’s License is required.
