Are you a payroll professional who thrives on accuracy, compliance, and making a meaningful impact in a mission-driven environment? Aprio is partnering with an organization in Washington, D.C. to find a Payroll Manager to lead centralized payroll operations across four distinctive institutions.

• Leading end-to-end payroll for 500+ regular, temporary, and seasonal employees across multiple institutions and states
• Serving as primary Paylocity system administrator — processing, reporting, and system management
• Preparing payroll tax filings, 941 reconciliations, W-2s, and audit support
• Coordinating garnishments, direct deposits, retirement contributions, and benefit deductions
• Partnering with HR, Finance, and institutional leaders across a shared services model
• Identifying opportunities to modernize processes, strengthen controls, and improve service delivery

• 5+ years of progressive payroll administration experience
• Multi-state payroll processing — 500+ employees preferred
• Paylocity experience strongly preferred
• Experience with 941 reconciliations, payroll tax filings, and audit support
• Multi-institution or shared services experience a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, HR, Business, or related field

• Hybrid — 2 days onsite in Washington, D.C. with path to fully remote once established
