The Electrical Technician works independently troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining electrical equipment and ensures all equipment is in safe working condition within the packaging and processing areas of a vegetable processing facility.

• Maintains all electrical systems from low voltages to 4160 volt
• Repairs or replaces all electrical devices including but not limited to: breaker panels, motor starters, heaters, fuses, lights, AC drives, motors, electrical switches, etc., all in accordance with state and federal codes including company policies and procedures
• Maintains and troubleshoots VFDs, soft starts, lighting and control circuits
• Must be able to install plant equipment, run conduits, pull wire, install switches, breaker panels, etc. as needed to supply power to plant electrical apparatus
• Works with electrical meters such as amp clamps, volt meters, analog meters, meggers, etc.
• Must be able to assist all other maintenance personnel in the event of a major plant break down
• Assists the Instrumentation/PLC Technician
• Performs other duties as assigned

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

3+ years related experience and/or training

• Good knowledge of computer systems
• Must be familiar with automated control systems and be able to read, understand and maintain electrical drawings and manuals
• 2+ years experience in a processing environment
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to read and write in English
• Ability to work any shift, weekend and overtime if required
• Ability to balance multiple tasks, be flexible and work well under pressure
• Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision and exercise good judgment
