Here at Grigg’s Ace Hardware, our cashiers exemplify the foundation of our service to each customer as they enter and leave the store. Candidates well suited for our Cashier role are customer-focused, have a friendly, approachable personality, enjoy working as part of a team, and can stay motivated when completing repetitive tasks.

• Greet customers entering the store and thank them for shopping with us.
• Handle money, credit/debit cards, and other payment types accurately.
• Verify the cash drawer's accuracy at the beginning and end of each shift, and immediately notify your manager on duty of any discrepancies.
• Follow company policies and procedures for all transactions.
• Engage customers to ensure they receive all the benefits of being an ACE Rewards member, and actively encourage participation.
• Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently.
• Answer and monitor all calls and pages promptly, courteously, and effectively.
• Communicate any problem or issue that requires management assistance.
• Continuously build product knowledge andassist customers with store layout and product location.
• Assist in pricing, stocking, marking, and bagging of merchandise.
• Learn and exemplify the Helpful Ready policy of Grigg’s/ACE Hardware.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Prompt attendance is required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Cashier experience in a similar position or proficiency in a similar task.
• Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to help maintain a customer-focused culture.
• Ability to use a Point-of-Sale system (POS), computer, telephone, and other equipment as needed.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Bilingual (Spanish) verbal and written communication skills highly desired.
• Must know how to count change back to the customer.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Skillful communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
• Excellent physical stamina.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion.

$17.13/hr.

Part-time, 20-30 hours per week. Workdays will vary, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
