Sales Representative, Outside Sales
Position Purpose
The Sales Representative position offers an exciting chance to fuel our company's growth. You’ll oversee a broad array of existing independent convenience store customers, driving sales through our varied food service and convenience programs. Your role extends beyond maintaining existing customers; it involves tapping into new customers and forging strong business relationships.
Responsibilities- Grow sales and profit margins through execution of sales strategy and territory management, planning a sales approach customized for individual customers.
- Prospect and onboard new customer accounts, including cold calling to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
- Educate customers on convenience and food service programs, new product promotions, marketing policies, service, delivery specifics, and industry activities.
- Review daily/weekly/monthly reports with store managers and assist with any opportunities that may arise.
- Minimize accounts receivable problems by monitoring compliance with credit terms and following up on any issues.
- Maintain awareness of pricing trends within the sales territory, ensuring competitive pricing.
- Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that increase sales.
- Participate in relevant industry events and networking opportunities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Travel 80% of the time to and from customer locations; overnight stays may be required.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Proven success closing B2B sales for a variety of product lines.
- 2+ years of sales account management and consulting experience.
- Strong time management and ability to travel efficiently.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, cold-chain integrity, and Serv‑Safe certification.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work independently.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with proven ability to conduct professional, results‑driven customer presentations.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
- Energetic, entrepreneurial spirit with competitive drive.
- Track record of growing market share.
- Must own a reliable vehicle with a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and a clean driving record.
- Competitive salary during training: $52,000. Post‑training, earn commissions + subsidy until territory reaches 100% commission.
