Installation Technician, General Labor
Job Summary
You will serve as one of many primary resolvers for your support team skilled at troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware infrastructure issues. You support and share knowledge of these technologies with team members. You possess basic to intermediate system administration skills and work autonomously to resolve server issues. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support. You know how to take direction when given, paying attention to all details involved.
You work well with a team. You are receptive to feedback and able to adjust performance and behavior as required for the position.
- Fiber & Copper Cabling Installation
- Completed fiber patching for brick cabinets
- Routed CAT6A copper cables from MDA to IDF racks 4A-4C
- Verified labeling conforms to the company's structured cabling standards
- Brick Build Execution
- Installed and secured new brick frames in Row G
- Mounted switch hardware and connected uplinks per engineering drawings
- Confirmed brick and scanned into asset management system
- Infrastructure Testing
- Performed continuity tests on all newly installed fiber strands
- Documented results in daily punch list and cleared 3 flagged circuits
- Used Fluke tester to certify copper drops with >95% pass rate
- 1‑2 years of prior IT related experience with previous Data Center/Cabling experience as a plus.
- Willing to look at candidates with no cabling experience who want to get into the trade and are willing to train.
- Prefer cabling experience (coax, fiber, cat5, cat6, punch downs, etc.) but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong work ethic.
- Willing to commute to the areas of Boardman, Umatilla and Hermiston, OR.
- Willing to work overtime as needed.

Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 – $26.00 per hour. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
