The Para educator III works under the direction of the Special Education Director and site administrator to support instructional activities for special needs students. A majority of the assignment will be spent working directly with students in a capacity that meets learning and physical needs as determined by their Individualized Educational Plan (IEP). Provide interventions and respond to inappropriate behaviors: assess crisis situations, intervene and defuse as appropriate.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• 48 or more college semester units, or certification of passing the District Para educator Exam, or possession of a Certificate of Proficiency examination in compliance with Education Code and No Child Left Behind Act (required)
• Experience working with children with Special Education needs (preferred)

  The District offers the exam every Thursday at 1 PM at the PRJUSD District Office, 800 Niblick Rd, Paso Robles.
