Registered Veterinary Technician – North County Animal Hospital (Thrive Pet Healthcare)

Join the North County Animal Hospital, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner in Paso Robles, to play an important role in pets’ lives by providing nose‑to‑tail care for our patients. You will support veterinarians, perform laboratory tests, assist in surgeries, and provide client communications.

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
• Assist with победicates in accordance with the California Veterinary Practice Act requirements for registered veterinary technicians.
• Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
• Maintain relevant, comprehensive medical records in our PMS.
• Obtain health history information from clients and communicate it to veterinarians and other team members.
• Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and maintain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
• Guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

• One year or more veterinary technician/assistant experience.
• California Registered Veterinary Technician licensure.
• Enjoyment of a challenging and fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi‑task.
• Proficient in IV catheter placement, venipuncture, intubation, IV, IM, and SQ injections.
• Proficient in monitoring anesthesia and working with various monitoring equipment.
• Proficient with dental radiographs.
• Proficient in ultrasound‑guided cystocentesis.
• Dental extraction experience is preferred but not required.
• Prioritize collaborative leadership and mentoring of team members.

North County Animal Hospital is a general practice located in Paso Robles focusing on primary and urgent care for dogs and cats. The hospital is open Monday through Saturday and serves communities in Paso Robles, Atascadero, San Miguel, Heritage Ranch, Creston, Santa Margarita, San Luis Obispo, and King City.

Hourly pay rate starting at $25/hour, negotiable based on credentials, experience, and location.
