As a Life Skills Instructor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals to develop essential life skills, achieve greater independence, and reach their personal and professional goals. NCI Affiliates offers a supportive, inclusive environment that values growth and success for both clients and employees.
Flexible part-time positions are available, and bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Teach independent living skills to individuals in their homes or within the community.
- Assist with daily living activities, such as budgeting and using public transportation.
- Support individuals in attending appointments and managing medication routines.
- Promote the development of social skills and positive community interactions.
- Encourage healthy leisure activities and effective use of free time.
- Guide and support clients in developing self-advocacy skills.
- Enhance clients’ financial management abilities and promote safety from exploitation.
- Facilitate the improvement of adaptive skills and behaviors for greater independence.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid California Driver’s License for at least 2 years.
- Basic computer and technology skills.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Flexible schedule to meet program needs.
- Patience, compassion, and the ability to serve as a positive role model for adults with disabilities.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
$23 per hour to start
