Ready Mix Driver

Job Summary

The Ready-Mix Driver will be responsible for all duties of the position, including the transporting of freshly mixed concrete from the batch plant to the job site in a safe manner. This individual will be responsible for making normal operating adjustments to the equipment and material being hauled. We are seeking a candidate with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and great customer service skills.

Compensation

$36.17 per hour.

Responsibilities

* Conduct daily pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections

* Deliver ready-mix concrete to various job sites

* Operate a multi-axle mixer truck safely, obeying all traffic laws

* Clean and wash vehicle to include the removal of concrete buildup on all exterior parts of the mixer

* Must be willing to work according to customer demands

* Operate a radio to communicate with company personnel

* Adhere to all safety regulations including company policies, state, and federal regulations

* Responsible for reporting all incidents/injuries to management as soon as they occur

* Attend safety meetings as scheduled by management

Education

High School Diploma/GED

Requirements/Qualifications

* Must have current Commercial Class A or B driver's license with airbrakes and tank endorsement

* Safe driving record (will have to provide DMV printout dated within 30 days.

* Must have a current Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Certificate

* Ability to read a map and understand verbal and GPS driving route instructions

* Must have familiarity with slumps

* Good attendance and punctuality a must

* Ability to work in extremes of hot and cold weather

* Must have the physical ability to: climb, stoop, bend, squat, frequently lift extension chutes (up to 60 lbs.), stretch, drive/sit and shift gears

* Adhere to all safety regulations including company policies, State, and Federal regulations

* Must be able to work a flexible schedule with flexible hours. Hours vary. Overtime work, weekends and nights may be required

Preferred:

* Experience in ready-mix or heavy construction industries

* 2+ years of commercial driving experience

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
