Assistant Store Manager
Join the Assistant Store Manager team at The Salvation Army and help run a busy store while supporting our rehabilitation programs.
Base Pay Range$15.49/hr – $16.50/hr
Duties and Responsibilities- Assist the Store Manager in managing daily store operations and supervising staff.
- Create a pleasant, hospitable work environment and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Ensure compliance with accounting, employee, and store policies.
- Help the manager meet sales, production, and expense budget goals and maintain profitability.
- Manage product flow from back room to sales floor and display merchandise according to the ARC Command Rag Out Calendar.
- Receive and interview applicants as needed.
- Train, direct, and supervise new personnel and retrain existing staff.
- Conduct regular evaluations of store personnel and identify strengths and development areas.
- Schedule sales associates and unpaid staff to ensure full coverage; post weekly work schedules when the manager is absent.
- Process biweekly payroll information for all store personnel; submit to finance department as requested.
- Order merchandise to keep the store well stocked and manage cash receipts per “Safekeeping of Salvation Army Funds” policy.
- Complete daily paperwork and sales reports and forward them to the finance department.
- Attend manager meetings and inform store personnel of new policies and directives when the manager is absent.
- Maintain safety measures in line with The Salvation Army policy and government regulations; report hazards and injuries to the Administrator, Store Supervisor, or designee.
- May be asked to fill in at other store locations.
- Support the work therapy program by exemplifying professional conduct and work habits.
- Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or Administrator.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in sales.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret simple income and expense reports.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable DMV record.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to motivate a team.
The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center provides spiritual, emotional, and social assistance to individuals struggling with substance abuse. Our residential programs focus on basic necessities, work therapy, and counseling to help participants live healthy, fulfilling lives.
