Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Manager, Enterprise Applications
Summary

Manager, Enterprise Applications leads software development and integration architecture at Jacent and owns our core enterprise applications. This role provides architectural oversight and delivery leadership for development work across our key platforms centered around the Net Suite ERP and Boomi integration layer. It sets the standards for design, code review, testing, and deployment, and works with the leads and developers who build and support that work.

On a lean team, this person is hands-on, writing or directly engaged in code roughly 30% of the time, makes sound build-versus-configure decisions, and keeps delivery predictable without adding unnecessary process overhead.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and delivery oversight for development on the packaged platforms, including Net Suite Suite Script and configuration changes, integrations in and through Boomi, and Movista and WCS customization, in partnership with the leads who manage those teams.
  • Serve as Act in a technical architecture role, working with business analysts, system owners, and the PMO to decide when a need should be met by platform configuration (Net Suite, Movista, WCS, Boomi), a platform extension, or a custom web application, and document the reasoning.
  • Design and build end-to-end integrations across ERP and third-party systems using EDI, SFTP and REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Turn requirements into estimates, backlog items, and sprint plans with business analysts and the PMO, track delivery and report status, risks, and capacity to the Sr. Director, IT Dev & Integration.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting for production integrations and applications to detect issues before they affect business.
  • Support production systems: triage incidents across platform customizations, integrations, and custom applications, lead root-cause analysis and resolution, and maintain runbooks so support does not depend on any single person.
  • Set and maintain engineering standards across platform and custom development, including SDLC, source control and branching, code review, automated testing, documentation, and release management.
  • Lead, hire, coach, and manage the performance of the web application developers; set priorities, assign work, and remove blockers.
  • Track and manage technical debt, and document architecture, data models, and API contracts.
  • Evaluate frameworks, tools, and outside development partners, and manage contract developers where used.
  • Contribute to annual planning, including headcount, skills gaps, and the build-versus-buy roadmap for custom applications.
  • Understand and demonstrate safe work practices at all times to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Complete special projects and other duties assigned by your supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to read, review, and guide work in packaged-platform extension languages and tools, including Suite Script and SuiteQL (Net Suite) and Boomi integration design.
  • Experience integrating systems through REST and SOAP APIs, webhooks, and file or EDI-based exchanges.
  • Strong SQL skills. Experience with Snowflake or a similar cloud data warehouse, including data validation and reconciliation.
  • Sound judgment on build, configure, or buy decisions for ERP, warehouse, field operations, and integration platforms.
  • Ability to lead developers on a lean team: prioritize, delegate, mentor, and hold a quality bar while still writing code.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including Git workflows, automated testing, code review, secure coding practices (OWASP), and application observability.
  • Working knowledge of Agile delivery (backlog, sprint planning, retrospectives) and the discipline to adapt the approach to the size of the work.
  • Exceptional problem analysis and root-cause skills, with a record of resolving ambiguous, cross-system problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including explaining technical trade-offs to business stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Strong sense of ownership and the ability to work independently and stay productive in a fully remote setting.
Experience and Credentials
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of software development experience, including at least 2 years leading developers as a manager or technical lead.
  • 5+ years designing end-to-end integrations across ERP and third-party systems using EDI, SFTP and…
