Position: Transmission Superintendent, High-Voltage Power and Infrastructure Construction

Trueline is seeking a Transmission Superintendent, High-Voltage Power and Infrastructure construction to join their team. In this role you will provide day-to-day leadership, oversight, and field direction for high-voltage transmission construction crews across multiple project locations. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced transmission leader who thrives in the field, excels at managing union crews, and delivers safe, high-quality work on schedule and on budget.

What

You’ll Do as the Transmission Superintendent:
  • Support and oversee general foremen and their union crews across multiple transmission project sites.
  • Manage daily field operations for greenfield and brownfield transmission construction, including excavation, foundations, rebar, anchor bolts, structural steel, monopole, H-frame and lattice tower erection, conductor stringing, sagging, tensioning, and clipping.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by leading safety meetings, performing site audits, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, NESC, environmental requirements, and internal safety policies.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with union representatives and ensure labor agreements are followed.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, track progress, and drive on time delivery of work scopes.
  • Collaborate with project management on cost forecasting, material planning, and cash flow tracking.
  • Monitor workmanship quality and conduct QA and QC reviews to confirm compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
  • Manage project reporting, documentation, and communication between field leadership, engineering, and management.
  • Serve as the primary on site representative with clients and stakeholders, communicating updates, progress, and any emerging issues.
Transmission Superintendent Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in electric transmission line construction.
  • 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience overseeing transmission crews.
  • Prior experience managing union labor is required.
  • Experience supporting or leading large scale utility projects (69 kV to 500 kV).
  • Familiarity with scheduling platforms; experience with Primavera P6 preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage complex field operations, multiple crews, and demanding schedules.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively as required.
Nice to Haves as the Transmission Superintendent:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field (equivalent experience accepted).
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • PMP certification or formal project management training.
  • Experience working across multiple utility service territories.
  • Previous experience working directly with client utility representatives.
  • Exposure to environmental compliance requirements on transmission projects.
  • Experience in both greenfield and brownfield transmission builds.
Travel Requirements:
  • Significant weekly travel is required for this role. Superintendents are typically on site 4 to 5 days per week with regular overnight stays.
  • Expect 2 to 5 overnights each week depending on project locations, size, and workload.
  • Coverage includes projects across Ohio, Indiana, and surrounding states, with rotation between multiple job sites as needed.
  • Larger transmission projects may require full‑time on‑site presence, including up to 5 or 6 nights per week away from home.
  • All travel related expenses are covered, including per diem, meals, lodging, and transportation.
Compensation:
  • Base salary range $140k to $185k base salary depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Per Diem/Daily Bonus:
    Company provided and covered; depending on location and local union rates.
  • Company credit card provided for all job‑related travel costs (lodging, travel, and job‑related expenses).
