We’re seeking a Project Manager II to lead two concurrent $10M mission-critical controls projects in New Albany, OH, while overseeing additional smaller projects in Richmond, VA. You’ll be the primary point of contact for clients and trade partners—owning project delivery from installation and design coordination to commissioning and turnover.
This is a high-visibility role within Thermo’s Mission Critical & Data Centers team, offering the opportunity to deliver some of the most advanced automation systems in the world.

- Lead end-to-end execution for large-scale Mission Critical control projects; provide executive oversight for secondary projects.
- Serve as the on-site client interface, running OAC, risk reviews, and commissioning readiness meetings.
- Manage cost-loaded schedules, forecasts, and two-week look-aheads to drive project execution.
- Draft and manage subcontracts; ensure safety, quality, and documentation compliance.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to align field execution with design intent.
- Own commissioning readiness and oversee QA/QC through Levels 1–3 (supporting Levels 4–5 as needed).
- Build and mentor project engineers, superintendents, and coordinators.
- Strengthen customer relationships through proactive communication and follow-through.
- Anticipate risks and develop mitigation plans that protect margin and schedule.
- Apply strong field experience in BMS/DDC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Support installation, start-up, and commissioning with a hands-on understanding of controls design.
- Champion Thermo’s Quality Management System (QMS) and safety practices daily.
- Education: Bachelor’s in Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 5–7+ years managing $5M–$15M+ automation, MEP, or large-scale construction projects (mission-critical/data center preferred).
- Technical:
- Deep understanding of BMS/DDC, PLC, and MEP systems.
- Experience with design coordination, installation, and commissioning.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Project, or Primavera (P6).
- Soft Skills: Strategic thinker, adaptable under pressure, and confident communicator with proven client relationship skills.
- Certifications: PMP, PE, or CxA a plus.
- Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license; must be Fit for Duty at all times.
