Fleet Analyst
The Fleet Analyst is responsible for using current reports and building new reports to analyze data across our fleet management, telematics, maintenance, and fuel systems to improve utilization, reduce operating costs, and support data-driven decisions for a fleet of approximately 1,200 assets including semi’s, straight trucks, passenger vehicles, and yard and truck mounted forklifts. This role partners closely with Fleet Operations, Maintenance, Finance, and Leadership to identify efficiencies, optimize lifecycle strategies, and improve overall fleet performance.
Key Responsibilities Fleet Analytics & Reporting- Fleet utilization rate
- Asset availability and downtime
- Cost per mile / cost per hour
- Fuel efficiency and idle percentage
- Preventive vs. reactive maintenance ratio
- Identify high-cost assets and recurring failure trends
- Total cost of ownership (TCO)
- Repair vs. replace decision accuracy
- Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting processes, and system usage
- Partner with fleet and operations teams to improve adoption of fleet tools
- Fleet management systems (e.g., Samsara, Geotab, Verizon Connect, Fleetio, or similar)
- Maintenance and work order systems
- Fuel card and fuel management data
- BI & reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar)
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Analytics, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in fleet analysis, operations analysis, or data analysis
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with dashboards and reporting tools
- Data-driven decision making
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, and Finance
- Experience supporting large fleets (500+ assets; 1,000+ preferred)
- Experience with heavy equipment, trucks, or mixed fleets
- Familiarity with telematics and maintenance systems
- Experience supporting lifecycle or capital planning decisions
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities
