Position SummaryThe Truck Detailer is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the interior of the company’s fleet of trucks and trailers. This includes removing debris, organizing driver personal belongings, and washing trailer interiors. The role prioritizes safety, attention to detail, and efficiency while ensuring vehicles are maintained to company standards.
Essential Functions- Detail the interior of truck cabs, including dashboards, seats, and floors.
- Remove perishables, debris, and organize driver personal belongings; maintain inventory of items.
- Wash out trailer interiors as directed.
- Hand clean areas inside the truck or trailer that require special attention.
- Transfer loads on “out of service” trailers or down units as needed.
- Remove pallets from empty trailers when directed.
- Drive tractor and trailer combinations within the yard as needed.
- Maintain a clean work area, including refilling softeners, picking up debris, emptying trash, and monitoring cleaning supplies.
- Perform daily yard checks and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Understand and follow instructions on MSDS sheets and company safety protocols.
- Wear appropriate PPE as required.
- Report unsafe conditions, hazards, or incidents immediately.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- High School Graduate or GED.
- 1+ years of interior equipment detailing experience preferred but not required.
- Strong focus on safety and following established procedures.
- Well organized with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
