As an Occupational Therapist, you will:
- Implement treatment plans focusing on functional and measurable outcomes
- Deliver specialized individual and group therapy as outlined in students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collect data and prepare reports on student progress
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure cohesive therapy
- Assess and document each student’s progress through formal and informal evaluations
- Provide parent and caregiver support to enhance student outcomes
- Attend school meetings related to student progress and therapy needs
- Ensure a suitable learning environment by preparing necessary materials
- Supervise COTA(s) as needed
- Participate in training programs for students, staff, and families
- Valid State License
- NYSED Certification:
Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) OR Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) - Willingness to work with medically fragile children for some preschool referrals
