A.B. Paterson College is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and expert Mathematics Teacher to inspire and challenge students through high-quality mathematics instruction. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in Term 1, 2026.

We are looking for an educator who brings subject mastery, professionalism, and enthusiasm to the classroom, and who is committed to fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of mathematics in students.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging, rigorous Mathematics lessons that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world application, aligned with the Australian Curriculum and QCAA syllabus.

Create a respectful, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, academic growth, and student wellbeing, using proactive and effective behaviour management strategies.

Monitor and track student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely, constructive feedback and implementing strategies to enhance individual learning goals and study skills.

Actively contribute to the College’s pastoral care and co-curricular programs, building meaningful relationships with students and supporting their personal, social, and emotional development.

Collaborate with colleagues within the mathematics and wider College community to share resources, reflect on teaching practice, and contribute to a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and professional excellence.

What We’re Looking For:

A qualified and experienced Mathematics teacher with experience teaching Years 7-12
Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics experience is desirable
A strong commitment to student wellbeing and academic excellence
A collaborative team member who contributes positively to College life
Someone who embraces innovation and continuous improvement in teaching practice
A strong background and sound knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and QCAA syllabus
Up-to-date skills in the use of IT and other digital classroom resources
Current CPR and First Aid training, or willingness to obtain
Current Teacher Registration is a requirement of this position
