Role Description  The Counselor role is an on-site position based at the Oxford Business College campus in Patna. The Counselor will guide prospective and current students through course selection, admissions processes, and academic planning, ensuring they understand program requirements and available support services. Daily responsibilities include conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, responding to student and parent inquiries, maintaining accurate counseling records, and coordinating with faculty and administration to address academic or personal concerns.

The role also involves supporting campus placement and career guidance activities, organizing informational sessions, and contributing to outreach efforts to promote the college’s programs. The Counselor is expected to foster an inclusive, student-centered environment that supports learner success and well-being.

Qualifications
Strong student counseling and advisory skills, with the ability to support learners from diverse backgrounds in academic, career, and personal decision-making.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening, empathy, and the ability to build trust with students, families, and staff.
Organizational and administrative abilities, such as maintaining accurate records, managing appointments, and coordinating with multiple departments.
Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills, with sound judgment in handling sensitive or confidential matters.
Comfort with basic computer applications and educational technology tools used for student information, communication, and reporting.
Bachelor’s degree in any field; a counseling certification or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
Prior experience in academic counseling, student services, or admissions in a college or educational institution is preferred.
