OverviewTemporary Part-Time Dietitian
Pawtucket Falls Healthcare Center is looking for a part-time Dietitian who will play a key role in ensuring the nutritional well-being of residents by providing clinical nutrition assessments, individualized care plans, and ongoing monitoring in compliance with state and federal regulations. Working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, the Dietitian promotes residents’ health, safety, and quality of life through effective nutritional management and oversight of the facility’s food and nutrition services.
QualificationsRegistered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential.
Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Rhode Island (if applicable).
Experience in long-term care or a healthcare setting preferred.
Strong documentation, communication, and assessment skills.
Ability to work independently and manage a part-time caseload efficiently.
- Clinical Nutrition
Conduct initial, quarterly, annual, and significant-change nutrition assessments.
Identify residents at nutritional risk and develop individualized nutrition care plans.
Monitor weight changes, swallowing issues, hydration status, and overall nutritional status.
Provide therapeutic diet recommendations (e.g., diabetic, renal, texture-modified).
Participate in care plan meetings as required.
Ensure compliance with CMS

, and facility policies.Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record.
Support preparation for surveys by ensuring diets, menus, and clinical documentation meet standards.
Review menus for nutritional adequacy and regulatory compliance.
Ensure meal service meets residents' dietary needs and preferences.
Provide guidance to dietary staff on therapeutic diets, consistency modifications, and safe feeding practices.
Collaborate with the Food Service Director to address concerns or recommendations.
Communicate nutrition care plans and recommendations to residents and families.
Provide education on dietary needs, restrictions, and goals.
Work with nursing, therapy, dietary, and social services to coordinate comprehensive resident care.
Participate in QA/QAPI initiatives related to nutrition and weight management.
