Step into a role where precision and pace come together. As our Compounding Blender Technician, you turn raw materials into finished product by following batch card instructions, staging materials, and charging hand-adds to meet customer requirements and production commitments.
A Day In The BlendAt the start of each run, you’ll verify TA item code numbers and confirm the lot numbers and weights of raw materials. You’ll record every lot number on the batch card, then clean and inspect the blender to make sure it’s ready for the next charge. With the area prepped, you’ll stage what’s needed for the next compound charge and accurately add all hand-add ingredients per the batch card.
Should anything deviate from procedure, you’ll notify supervision immediately and document the variation on the batch card. You’ll coordinate blender production with adjacent operations, review the production schedule, and follow customer packaging instructions so every product is packed, labeled, weighed, and sealed correctly. Any schedule change, unclear instruction, or potential issue is escalated to the Bagger Leadman.
You’ll generate labels and carefully align and affix them to containers. When changeovers are required, you’ll execute them efficiently and cleanly, using all required safety equipment, and you’ll communicate with mill area operators as soon as the changeover is complete. You’ll also stage packaging materials in advance (Gaylords, Supersacks, etc.) to cover upcoming shift needs.
Throughout the shift, you’ll scan/enter finished goods into the computer system, practice strong housekeeping, and wear required PPE. You will strive to meet or exceed plant KPIs and actively participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives. You’ll also learn the Line 4 Blending area and be ready to fill in on other jobs when needed.
Skills That Set You Up For Success- Ability to read and comprehend English; solid math skills.
- Ability to drive (or learn to drive) a forklift and use an electric hand truck.
