The sales role is responsible for driving sustainable financial growth through the identification of opportunities, proposing technical solutions, and closing sales while generating strong client relationships by gaining compound approvals. The position will be responsible for sales, support, and growth of the vinyl division product line within a diverse and growing market with the key focus on profitability, and revenue growth.

  • Focus on the support, development and progression of new and existing customer opportunities within target markets.
  • Research the target markets within the agreed territory, identify trends and product requirements to successfully grow these markets.
  • Assess competitive solutions (products or systems) incumbent in these markets where responsible and provide competitive intelligence to the market segment leader.
  • Identify, track and manage opportunity pipeline through to sales.
  • Generate comprehensive key customer account plans to deliver and grow profitable sales .
  • Obtains product suggestions from Technical Service to meet customer requirements through Lab Services Requests.
  • Offers technical support to customers.
  • On an as needed basis, addresses, communicates, and manages complaints with both Teknor Apex Technical Service and customer.
  • Attends regional and national sales meetings.
  • Represents Teknor Apex at trade shows and industry association gatherings.
  • Attends and participates in industry related seminars.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Ability to develop new approaches to replace products and develop niche markets.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
  • Position requires 2-4 years prior successful industry business-to-business sales experience and demonstrated/effective business development track record in plastics, chemicals, or related industry.
  • Knowledge/understanding of sustainable product compounding and extrusion and injection molding processing would be an advantage.
  • Comprehensive market knowledge of Consumer, Digital Infrastructure, Consumer Electronic, Packaging
  • Ability to confidently provide technical product guidance and efficient solutions utilizing value-in-use / value-based selling techniques.
  • Strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
  • Travel via air travel and/or driving is predominantly within the established sales territory, with possible travel within North America and designated global destinations on an as-needed basis; valid driver’s license and passport required.
  • Use of Microsoft Suite, including PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong communication skills; oral and written proficiency in the English Language; additional languages could be advantageous.
  • Requires self-motivation, accountability, and effective use of time for a highly independent role.
  • Customer Focus – must be a reliable and trustworthy representative of the needs of both internal and external customers, going out of their way to ensure that the customer is satisfied.
  • Technical and Functional Expertise – Technically competent with a drive to understand applications within core industries and the ability to provide technical guidance and solutions utilizing value-in-use / value-based selling techniques.
  • Team Player – Must be responsive and demonstrate the ability to build and maintain effective relationships both internal and external.
  • Resilient – must be focused and persistent in the pursuit of new sales and opportunities.
  • Communication – Must be able to listen well and articulate a clear message of technical/product information using different communication mediums.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 lbs
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
