*
* Position Summary:

** The Insulator will be responsible for applying, removing, and repairing insulation on industrial equipment, pipes, ductwork, or other mechanical systems.
*
* Role and Responsibilities:

*** Regular attendance at assigned location that may include office or other project sites
* Insulate building, tanks, vessels, boilers, stream, and hot water pipes, and cold or chilled water pipes
* Measure and cut insulation for covering surfaces, using tape measures, handsaws, knives, and scissors
* Determine amounts and selects required insulation material (in sheet, tubular, or roll form)
* Cover, seal, or finish insulated surfaces or access holes with metal jacketing, plastic covers, canvas strips, sealants, tapes, cement, or mastic
* Fit insulation around obstructions, and shape insulating materials and protective coverings as required
* Prepare surfaces for insulation application by brushing or spreading on adhesives, cement, or asphalt, or by attaching metal pins to surface
* Cover or seal insulation to structure according to type of insulation used and structure covered
* Install sheet metal around insulated equipment to protect the insulation from weather damage
* Perform additional duties as directed by job site foreman, project managers, and supervisors## Qualifications
** Essential Skills & Characteristics:
*** Ability to work independently or as part of a team
* Follow plans and instructions from supervisors or more experienced workers
* Strict adherence to all safety rules and quality
* Interact with all co-workers and clients in an attentive courteous manner
* At times may perform clerical/administrative duties
* Ability to read and interpret a variety of instructions written, oral, diagram or schedule form
* Ability to read and interpret the safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and manual
** Educational & Experience Requirements:
*** High School Diploma or relevant field experience
* 3-5 years of experience as an Industrial Mechanical Insulator is preferred
* OSHA 10 certification
* Understanding and development of daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
* Industrial insulation experience preferred
