Job Description & How to Apply Below

About the role

Imagine being the bridge between fire and code between what happens in a rocket motor test and what our models believe is happening. We are looking for a Development Engineer dedicated to building advanced tools for test data analysis and internal model validation. This role is not a test engineering position; instead, it focuses on transforming raw test data into actionable insights and ensuring that analytical and simulation models accurately reflect real-world behaviour.

You will work closely with propulsion engineers, analysts, and simulation teams to develop robust software frameworks that process, analyze, and interpret data from rocket motor tests. Your work will directly contribute to model credibility, performance prediction accuracy, and faster development cycles.

At Destinus
, we are revolutionizing the defense industry with cutting‑edge Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Our innovative technologies are designed to meet the unique demands of modern defense operations, delivering unparalleled speed, precision, and cost effectiveness.
Destinus partners with government agencies and defense organizations worldwide to provide advanced solutions for mission‑critical operations, enabling a new era of efficiency and technological superiority. Join us in shaping the future of defense with groundbreaking aerospace innovations.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop and maintain software tools to process, clean, and analyze rocket motor test data
  • Design data pipelines and analysis workflows that convert raw sensor data into validated engineering metrics
  • Build frameworks to compare experimental test results against internal analytical, numerical, and AI‑based models
  • Support model validation, calibration, and continuous improvement using test data
  • Implement statistical analysis, uncertainty quantification, and error assessment methods to evaluate model accuracy
  • Collaborate with propulsion, simulation, and systems engineers to define validation criteria and performance indicators
  • Create Python‑based libraries for data analysis, visualization, and reporting
  • Automate recurring analysis and validation tasks to improve efficiency and reproducibility
  • Document data processing methods, assumptions, and validation results to ensure traceability and long‑term usability
What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of professional experience in software development, scientific computing, or data analysis
  • Exposure to rocket propulsion, aerospace testing, or high‑performance engineering systems
  • Strong proficiency in Python, including experience with data and scientific libraries (e.g. Num Py, pandas, Sci Py, matplotlib, seaborn, scikit‑learn, or similar)
  • Experience working with experimental or time‑series data, including filtering, synchronization, and post‑processing
  • Solid understanding of statistics, data analysis, and model validation concepts
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working closely with engineers while maintaining a software‑ and data‑focused role
Who You Are

You are a data driven engineer who thrives at the intersection of software, physics, and real world testing. Curious and analytical by nature, you dig deep into complex datasets, challenge assumptions, and bring structure to ambiguity. You take ownership of your tools and models, value technical accuracy, and collaborate seamlessly with propulsion and simulation teams to turn raw results into reliable engineering insight.
