Job Overview

As a Label Machine Operator at Seneca Foods, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining labeling machinery to ensure the efficient and accurate labeling of our products. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will be essential in meeting our production goals. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, able to prioritize and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision.

Additionally, they should be self-motivated and trustworthy, seeking long-term employment with opportunities for growth.

RESPONSIBILITIESLabeling Machine Operation
  • Operate labeling machinery efficiently and accurately.
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Inspect labels for accuracy and ensure they adhere correctly to products.
Equipment Maintenance
  • Perform routine maintenance on labeling equipment and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintain production records and reports as required.
  • Collaborate with the production team to meet production targets.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a Labeling Machine Operator or similar role is preferred but not required.
Technical Skills
  • Familiarity with Label Line operations and the mechanics of a labeler or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate dud detector system.
  • Adaptability and Attributes
    • Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.
    • Commitment to safe behavior.
    • Strong attention to details and familiarity with Seneca coding for brite and finished items.
    • Demonstrated positive approach to job tasks, including excellent punctuality and attendance.
    • Takes the initiative, proactively seeking opportunities to improve processes and to keep busy.
    • Values accountability and strives for continual self‑improvement.
    • Various other duties as assigned by Management.
    Personal Qualities
    • Self‑motivated and a team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
    • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
    Work Schedule
    • Availability for a Monday – Friday shift from 6:00 am – 4:30 pm, with overtime as needed based on production and customer requirements.
