Job Description

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Bag groceries at checkout for customers, striving for at least five items per bag without damage.
• Follow best practices for bagging in various types of bags (reusable, plastic, paper).
• Assist in removing customer's merchandise from bascarts for checkout.
• Offer to help customers load bags into their cars.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning and inform customers of grocery specials.
• Return merchandise to shelves and gather bascarts for return.
• Clean spills, trash, and all areas inside and outside the store.
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
• Understand store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
• Reinforce safety programs, comply with safety procedures, and report unsafe conditions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment, answer questions about products.
• Follow all laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts in a reasonable, cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
• Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Customer Service skills
• Effective communication skills

Desired Previous Job Experience:

• Retail experience preferred but not necessary
