Overview

Environmental Compliance Project Manager at Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. is a role based in Boston, MA. As an Environmental Compliance Project Manager in CEC's Environmental Practice, you will oversee environmental compliance projects across markets including manufacturing, mining, public sector, and real estate. You will self-perform and lead project teams tasked with preparing and reviewing permit applications (air, water, solid waste), compliance plans (Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures Plans, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans), and conducting compliance audits.

You will develop proposals and project budgets, manage the technical staff, produce technical reports, perform quality control, handle project-related administrative tasks, manage project finances, and drive business development. You will interact directly with clients, contractors, and federal/state government officials.

Responsibilities
  • Self-perform and manage project teams tasked with preparing and reviewing permit applications (air, water, solid waste).
  • Prepare compliance reports (TRI, Form R, RCRA).
  • Develop and implement compliance plans, including SPCC and SWPPP.
  • Conduct compliance audits.
  • Develop proposals and project budgets; manage technical staff and produce technical reports; perform quality control; handle project-related administrative tasks; manage project finances; and drive business development efforts.
  • Interact directly with clients, contractors, and federal/state government officials.
Leadership & Professional Development
  • Mentor and assist in the professional development of staff, including annual performance reviews and helping staff establish professional development goals.
  • Collaborate with management to support your career goals through professional development and mentoring initiatives to build project management, leadership, and business development skills.
Location & Schedule

Applicants may sit in either Boston, MA;
Raynham, MA; or Peabody, MA. CEC offers a flexible work schedule.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the manufacturing industry or environmental consulting.
  • B.S. or M.S in Civil, Chemical, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Professional license (LSP, LEP, P.E., or P.G. a plus).
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of regulations and can communicate obligations and requirements to clients.
  • Stays apprised of new and changing regulations and comprehends how they will impact clients and markets.
  • Established client network and ability to successfully pursue new clients.
  • Experience in developing proposals and technical submittals.
  • Participation in both client- and professional development-based organizations.
