The primary purpose of this position is to provide each of the assigned residents with routine daily care by assisting with direct resident care duties and indirect resident care duties, as directed by the charge nurse and/or certified nursing assistants.

• Assist residents in dressing and personal hygiene.
• Assist CNAs with residents requiring 2-staff transfer (except in mechanical transfers).
• Make occupied bed and unoccupied bed.
• Assist in obtaining weights and incontinence care in bed for residents who can move in bed.
• Provide full or partial bed baths and assist with meals for residents not at risk for swallowing/aspiration.
• Pass, set up, and collect trays; check and bring supplies as needed.
• Place belongings within residents’ reach and respond to call bells promptly.
• Transport residents to dining, appointments, activities, or other needs as per care plan.
• Provide 1:1 supportive interaction (e.g., reading mail/newspapers/books, accompanying outside visits).
• Assist with technology communication (Zoom, Face Time, Skype, Google Meet, etc.).
• Monitor residents to maintain safety and provide 1:1 supervision as needed.
• Organize and tidy closets and dressers; ensure personal care items are stocked and stored properly.
• Assist with inventory for new admissions and arrange diagnostic/therapeutic appointments.
• Direct visitors, handle copy and fax duties as needed for the unit.
• Greet newly admitted residents, escort to room, collect paperwork, and inform appropriate staff of arrival.
• Assist with gathering supplies for care and distributing linens; assist with nourishment and hydration as appropriate.
• Check fall precautions, bed monitors, mats, and personal alarms; clean equipment such as wheelchairs, tubs, and showers after use.
