Pay Rate: $21/hr
Contract Length: 3–4-month contract with potential to convert
Location: Peabody, MA (Primary location_
******* Will need to be able to float between Beverly, Gloucester, and Newburyport when coverage is needed (estimated once a month or every other month - will reimburse for travel)
Office Hours:Monday
-7am-3pm , T/TH 10-6, sometimes 10-7), W/F 8-4)
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This role is the first point of contact for patients and visitors, responsible for creating a welcoming environment, efficiently managing administrative duties, and supporting smooth patient flow within the practice.
Key Responsibilities:Greet patients and visitors warmly upon arrival.
Answer and route incoming calls in a professional manner.
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
Check patients in and out, ensuring accurate and complete information is collected.
Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or outstanding balances.
Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Update and maintain electronic medical records (EMR) accurately.
Communicate with medical staff to coordinate patient care and resolve scheduling conflicts.
Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including faxes, emails, and mail.
Keep the reception area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary forms and supplies.
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or medical office certification is a plus.
Prior experience in a medical office or front desk role preferred.
Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance verification processes.
Proficiency in using EMR systems (e.g., Epic, eClinical
Works, Athenahealth).Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and a professional demeanor.
