As a Retail Sales Associate, also known as a Generalist colleague, you are an integral part of bringing the Macy's magic. The shopper is your highest priority. We are looking for flexible team players who thrive in a fast-paced environment, can switch between multiple tasks, and can work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.

• Greet and connect with customers in a friendly and genuine way and show appreciation for their experience.
• Recommend products by asking questions to identify needs and inspire purchases with newness.
• Offer options and solutions to complete the sale.
• Close the shopping journey by celebrating purchases and sharing in the customer’s excitement.
• Master store products, services, loyalty programs, and Macy's sales systems to help customers find what they need and suggest additional items.
• Maintain department recovery standards, including selling floor and fitting rooms.
• Deliver optimal merchandise execution, ensure accurate pricing, and process markdowns accurately and timely.
• Foster an environment of acceptance and respect with colleagues, customers, and communities.

Product Knowledge: Good understanding of the products and the ability to provide guidance based on customer wants, features, and choices.

Communication: Comfortable communicating with customers virtually, by phone, and in person.

Sales: Ability to build relationships with customers, achieve sales goals, and participate in pre-selling and sales-boosting events.

Technology: Utilize point of sale technology and applications to help in selling and fulfilling customer orders.

Continuous Learning: Self-driven to keep up with product knowledge and trends and stay current with training resources.

Interpersonal

Skills:

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels and across departments.

Collaboration: Partner with the total team to drive sales and deliver the customer experience.

• Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays, with regular attendance and punctuality

• You can handle electronic devices
• Must be able to understand and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors, and read and understand employment policies and safety rules in English
• No education or experience required

• Prolonged periods of standing/walking
• Frequent use of computers and handheld devices
• Reaching, including above eye level; crouching, kneeling, stooping; color vision
• Lifting to 30 lbs and other physical tasks as required
