Lead Electrical Engineer 1 - Nuclear
Join Sargent &ldquorlundy as a Lead Electrical Engineer 1 for nuclear projects.
WORK LOCATION:
Hybrid schedule requiring in-office work 3 days per week at the Peachtree Corners, GA office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the group to ensure successful completion of electrical engineering project deliverables and meet technical, quality, financial and project controls expectations.
- Initiate, convey scope of work and define deliverables (calcs, specs, drawings, design change).
- Review status and track progress of group members to maintain scope/budget and keep client informed.
- Routine status meetings, progress reports, tracking and resolving open items and emergent project issues.
- Coordinate completion of project deliverables and lead the team for detailed design phases for all aspects of electrical engineering work.
- Develop project scope, cost estimates, and schedules for complex electrical modifications at nuclear power plants and provide technical oversight and supervision for all electrical engineering activities.
- Interface with client to validate scope and ensure client satisfaction; mentor and guide group development; identify and follow up on client needs that may result in strategic opportunities.
- Prepare and coordinate multi-discipline proposals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BSEE degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
- 10+ years of experience designing electrical engineering systems for nuclear power plants.
- 3+ years of experience leading an engineering design group through all phases of a project design.
- Experience selecting equipment, materials, and preparing engineering design change packages, calculations, and specifications.
- Experience serving as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role.
- Experience with electrical system design including low and medium voltage distribution systems.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Detail oriented approach.
- Capable of being badged for unescorted access to a nuclear station.
- PE license is preferred.
