Utilize and expand your academic background in structural engineering. Work with an interdisciplinary team on design of new nuclear facilities, plant improvements, and modifications.
Responsibilities- Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel and reinforced concrete design.
- Prepare design calculations, develop specifications, support designers with drawing development.
- Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, foundations using state‑of‑the‑art computer tools.
- Conduct structural analyses for extreme loading conditions such as wind and seismic.
- Training and mentorship from experienced structural design engineers.
- Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews, plant site visits for construction coordination and field verification.
- BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
- 1+ years applicable experience or MSCE from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission‑approved program.
- Knowledge of practical application of structural engineering.
- Knowledge of structural design techniques, tools, and principles for technical plans, drawings, and models.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- FE exam successful completion and designation as Engineer in Training.
- MSCE degree.
- Familiarity with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP
2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS. - Familiarity with design codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
